Winter Solstice

Yogi’s try to live in harmony with nature. The Winter Solstice marks the shortest day of the year. When the sun reaches its most southern point in the sky, a milestone in nature & our earth’s wondrous cycles. These cycles exist within all of us.

The Solstice is a good time for reflection. The darkness is an invitation to be still and look inward. As we find comfort & cultivate this inward looking we can look to begin releasing & heal from what we need to shed and trust that the light of spring will find us once again. We can set our intentions & plant those seeds. Trusting that the will begin to grow in the coming months with spring awakening.

108 Sun Salutations

To celebrate the solstice this year the wonderful Emily Young led a strong & sweaty donation based class for One Tree Planted-a charity helping to reforest our earth home.

The number 108 is of great significance in the yoga tradition & it is said to connect the earth, moon & sun. It is said to be a number of the wholeness of existence.

The practice of saluting the sun 108 times is a special experience, the salutations become a beautiful meditation of movement, the heat & cleansing quality of this in the body can help to shift any stagnation & will leave those who complete it feeling empowered & ready to nurture that which we wish to bring to life as we do each spring.

Well done to all who came & completed ALL 108 salutations, together you carried each other through, whilst honouring your own unique body. Thank you also to Emily who led you all beautifully.

We raised £100 for One Tree Planted.

We hope to run a Spring Equinox event to once again, celebrate these natural opportunities for growth.
